I think bmac is trying to make the point that the kid didn’t deserve to get his foot destroyed because it wasn’t something you normally would expect to happen. Sort of a punishment not fitting the crime. He’s just a kid and doesn’t know better. He should have to do some kind of community service for the vandalism.

I hate to break it to some of you geniuses, but gravity doesn’t care how old you are, what your motivations are, if there was a warning sign or not, if your parents raised you well or poorly, or any other circumstances. Things are heavy. They fall. Sometimes with more force than other, lighter things.

Big concrete blocks? They’re pretty high up there on the weight factor. If you’re stupid enough to go kicking the block supporting at least 2 more blocks, and don’t realize what will happen when said block finally does break- I’m sorry, but you’re a fucking moron and yes- you DO deserve what happens to you. It’s called natural selection, and it’s been happening for a couple of years now. Those too stupid to survive in the world around them die off, and they (hopefully) don’t get the chance to bring the whole species down with them.

Many people here aren’t thinking. It looks like it’d be pretty easy to replace one of those segments but losing a limb is not something you earn from being an idiot. If he was younger, 8 maybe, or 12, you’d have very different opinions on what he deserved.
