it might also be the case the ‘nigger’ simply means black in Norwegian, but im not sure about that.

The artist, Alfred Schmidt, was at least active from 1900-1920, meaning the card is about that old. Considering we hardly had any blacks here until the 70s, we probably got “Nigger” from english, which later got turned into “Neger”, both of which are consided politically incorrect today.

Considering it was common for white Americans to slice-off toes, ears, fingers etc. from blacks fallen victim to the lynch mob (and common for many years after this was likely to have been printed), I would say that, if this does qualify as the most racist postcard, it doesn’t qualify as the most racist souvenir.

Actually “Nigger” is Latin for “Black”

e.g “Black Rock” translates to “Niger Silicis”
