  2. Go fuck your self. What in the fuck do you expect? I mean come on…you look like a fucking terrorist.

  3. Yeah dude. Cause all those 9-11 hijackers had huge beards and turbans. Each and every one.

  4. Um, no, he looks like a Sikh.

  6. Yeah 99% of the fucktard populace of this country can’t tell a Sikh from a Muslim

  7. Oh come on, racial profiling saves lives. Im glad cops ramdomly search black people and find pounds of crack on them.

  8. You shouldn’t have bombed Air India 182. Justice never forgets.

    — peteris · Nov 28, 09:50 PM · #

  9. I hate to admit it, but statistically, racial profiling works. Cry all you want but it saves lives. Maybe you would be less concerned about waiting around for a few extra minutes at airports if you were less selfish? Is 5 minutes of your time worth preventing a bomb detonating on a plane some day? I’m also aware that you, being a Sikh, don’t represent the typical terrorist mould – perhaps some airport staff need to be briefed on the symbolism of the turbin. Either way, complaining that a few extra minutes out of your day isn’t worth potentially saving lives is disappointing (if this is the message you’re portraying).

    — Bob · Nov 28, 09:51 PM · #

  10. Despite the govt.‘s emphatic denial, racial-profiling is a fact of life but here it is a case of outright ignorance and stupidity.

Why someone wearing a turban has been deemed to be of the Islamic faith, which is the only reason this guy’s been pulled over so many times, is beyond me. In New York, there have been several deaths of Sikhs thought to have been killed ostensibly for wearing a turban in the perpetrators’ seeming belief that his victim was Muslim.

  11. Haha very funny. Man I’m not worried about terrorism inside the US at all, I don’t know why everyone is still so uppity.

  12. Bob, what do you have against liberty? Are you really so scared that you want to chuck the Bill of Rights out the window? Obviously the terrorist attacks worked on you. We’re not supposed to harass people because of their race and religion in America.

  16. Um, what statistics say racial profiling works? I’ve only ever seen the opposite.

But maybe you’re right… what, by the by, was the second worst terrorist attack in US history? Oh yeah, Oklahoma City. We better start racially profiling average white people too. Right?

    — Statistician · Nov 29, 03:45 AM · #

  17. To all the people saying racial profiling works: statistically, it does, but only when the officers are competent. The idiots at US airports clearly can’t tell a Sikh from a Muslim.

  18. Yep,

  19. Racial profiling: obviously what’s going on

Religious Profiling: Would not be pulling in Sikhs and would be pulling in Muslims of non arab race. May have more effectiveness

Both to me are chilling, even though I am Pagan and of no organised belief system

This confusion doesn’t really happen in the UK, maybe because we have a more diverse and mixed ethnicity? Actually it may be due to the riots in the early 80s caused by the SUSS laws (the police stop and search powers that they have just been given back).

    — Dave · Nov 29, 04:38 AM · #

  22. I know you are a Sikh. and I would still search every single Sikh getting on a plane. Why? The Kirpan. I have yet to find another religion that requires its followers to always be armed. If weapons are outlawed on planes they are outlawed for everyone. Yet Sikhs continually try to board with them. Maybe it is time to develop a new rule that lets you carry a picture of one or something?

    — Tony · Nov 29, 06:11 AM · #

  23. Your all a bunch of slack jawed f@ggots if you believe that Mustafa (pic) is a terrorist. Take what is happening in Mumbai. “Terrorists” dressed in civilian clothes, with soviet bought weapons are who perpetrated the crimes. Plus not a single one of the 9/11 hijackers wore a turban when they boarded those planes. Go Corellia.

    — Jason · Nov 29, 07:58 AM · #

  30. actually, racial profiling is a cyclicar phenomenon. If you pull over more black people than white people, of course you’re going to find more black people with drugs, and then more black people end up in jail. It’s not because black people do more drugs, it’s because they’re being searched more often because of racial profiling. Racial profiling promotes itself.

    — Kelsey · Nov 29, 08:07 AM · #

  31. What are you complaining about? If you have nothing to hide then there should be no problem. Being of Indian decent, I too get checked far more than my white and black coleages. Dosent bother me at all.

You couldn’t be any dumber if you were made entirely out of plastic foam peanuts.

Racial profiling does not work — waay too many false positives, rendering the entire exercise useless. What you want is behavioral profiling. But don’t take my word for it, take it from one of the foremost security experts on the planet.

    Also, look here.

ps: you are dumb. I know I already said that, but it feels good to say it again (because it is so true).

  34. @ Tony:
“The Kirpan. I have yet to find another religion that requires its followers to always be armed.”

I believe the other religion is that of worshiping the US Constitution’s Second Amendment. The intensity of love felt by gun lovers for their gun probably exceeds that of Sikhs for their knives.

No, it doesn’t. The only person to try and carry out a terrorist attack on an airplane in the US since 9/11 was Richard Reid, an Englishman and the son of a white woman and a Jamaican male. PROFILE THAT.

    — Bob? More like FOB · Nov 29, 09:54 AM · #

  43. Most of the long-haul truckers from India I saw in southern Nepal were Sikhs, but that was right after Indira Gandhi’s assassination back in the 80s – she was killed by two bodyguards, both of them Sikhs. The truckers had to cross over to Nepal to save themselves and the livelihoods. This shows that there are valid reasons for wanting to cross borders unhindered and that Sikhs are accustomed to long distance travel. And just like most any other category of people, some of them kill.

Still, I’ve seen lots of Sikh police officers in the UK.

Wearing a turban doesn’t make anyone a terrorist (or even a Muslim – the Sikhs have their own religion) and should be zero cause for suspicion.

  45. To the people that think random searches are a good idea:
The ends do NOT justify the means, nor do they work. Giving up our liberty to ensure our safety merely loses our libery and doesn’t make us safer. People that believe it does are wrong.

Specifically in this case, a real terrorist will use every trick he can to not look like a terrorist. It’s true ignorance on the part of people to assume a turban means terrorist.

    — Jim · Nov 29, 10:26 AM · #

  46. It’s funny, you assholes on the internet bitch about racial profiling, but then every few weeks I read news stories where you same assholes giggle-snort about how stupid TSA is for screening someone you felt obviously wasn’t (some kid or old woman). Make up your fucking minds, you can’t have it both ways. Everyone is treated equally, or they are not.

    — Me · Nov 29, 10:36 AM · #

  47. Stop bitching about the U.S. security measures and get yourself involved in ending these assholes who look like you from blowing shit up all the time. As long as people that look like you keep blowing shit up, I will continue to assume you are more likely to blow something up than non-terrorist-looking-mother-fuckers. Yeah, racism sucks. I’ll happily search your fucking ass a hundred times over. You’re bitching and doing nothing to stop the real terrorists is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

    — Me · Nov 29, 10:40 AM · #

  48. To #47 – a person with abnormal mannerisms should be more likely to be searched. Someone with excessive, exaggerated aggression (such as yourself) is more likely to be searched.

Racial profiling works but they don’t draw the line there. Humans are not equal but we deserve the same rights. Unfortunately, your ignorance perpetuates the negative stereotypes of Americans which is why the rest of the world views Americans as pompous assholes with no heart. You kill for patriotism, protect for patriotism, judge for patriotism – you all fear what you don’t understand and can’t control. Is it any wonder why terrorists hit the most arrogant country in the world? (It’s a big world and you guys making it to the top is not something to be proud of). You’re not all bad but you’re not helping your case.

In America we consider any radical group from the middle east a terrorist group. He looks like hes from the middle east, therefore he looks like a terrorist. Or at least the media interpretation of one. Lets not be oversensitive people.

Let’s bomb innocent people because 1 out of 10,000 of them might be a threat, even though they could never afford a plane ticket to come to the US and kill us.

Americans have done a lot of horrendous shit in the name of…ummm….oil. Well, I guess that’s much more noble than doing in the name of Allah or any other God or religion, isn’t it?

I have traveled to many countries but my experience in the U.S. was bad enough that I’ll probably never go back there. I personally am white. Hell, I’m so white that you can find albinos that have more tan than me, but since my ID is not issued by the U.S. government I was taken aside at every checkpoint, I had to log into my email account and let customs read through it just to be let in. And I come from a country that has a bilateral agreement with the U.S. government regarding three month tourist visas. I wish every country would mandate that U.S. citizens entering their country would have to go through the same ridiculous and rigorous security checks… No wonder the U.S. is being called the United States of Assholes.

If you pull aside more black people than white, of course you’ll find more drugs on black people, ‘cause they’re the only people you searched. It doesn’t mean the white people don;t have drugs, it just means they aren’t caught.

Racial profiling is wrong, period. The USA is a melting pot, and we have a substantially diverse population to prove it.
1- That guy is a sikh (i hope i spelled that correctly)
2- Racial profiling is stupid and clearly doesn’t work. Look what happened in mumbai!
3- Ummmm whoever THE FUCK SAID THAT THE US DESERVED WHAT HAPPENED ON 9/11 SHOULD FUCKING DIE. I knew someone who died in the world trade center, and NOBODY deserves that. What did we, the American people, do to anyone? If you have to attack us, attack our military. That’s what they’re paid for.

  71. Just because some members of our government and population are racist and consider liberty unimportant doesn’t mean all Americans do.

It’s the conservative, Bush-Cheney kind of crowd that thinks this way. These people, although vocal and talented at causing enough fear to push many aspects of their agenda on the rest of the country, are not indicative of America as a whole. Please keep in mind that we have just elected a very liberal black man as leader of our country. We’re not as racist as you think.

I’m an American and I don’t support racial profiling or the infringement of civil liberties. I have nothing against people of other races, religions, ethnicities, or nationalities. It makes me a bit sad that others assume such things about all Americans.

However, few of you probably have as negative of an opinion of America as I, who lives here, do. But we’re trying.

I’m sorry for my fellow Americans.

    — caiti · Dec 6, 02:49 PM · #

  72. This would be funny if it wasn’t for the fact that nobody actually searches people with turbans and beards at the airport. They’re too afraid of being accused of racial profiling. They randomly search old white ladies and 7 year old kids instead. That way nobody can call them racist. Clearly this makes airport security far superior to what it was 8 years ago.
